Justice Logging & Excavation

Logging & Timber Shelton, WA 20+ years in business

About Justice Logging & Excavation

Justice Logging & Excavation LLC is a family-run logging, land clearing, excavation and trucking company based in Shelton, WA, serving Mason, Thurston and Grays Harbor counties. With more than 20 years in the logging, excavation, trucking and power trades, the Justice brothers run their own excavators, dozers and trucks and handle both sides of a job under one roof — timber harvesting, lot and land clearing, large tree removal and log hauling, plus site prep, road and driveway building, foundation dig-outs, grading, drainage, underground utilities, demolition, rock and gravel work. From a small residential driveway to full commercial site prep: quality work done right the first time, on your budget and your timeline. Licensed, bonded and insured (JUSTILE743CB). Free on-site quotes — call (360) 204-9927.

Services offered

Logging & timber harvesting

Select cut and full harvest on private timberland, farms and acreage — merchantable logs hauled out and the ground left in shape for whatever comes next.

Land clearing & lot clearing

Small residential lots to large parcels cleared for a home site, shop, pasture or development — trees down, stumps handled, slash cleaned up.

Tree removal & log hauling

Large fir, hazard trees and leaners near homes, barns and driveways, plus our own trucking to move logs and debris off the property.

Site prep & road building

Building pads, access roads, driveways and rock work graded and compacted so the builder or concrete crew can start on schedule.

Excavation & foundation dig-outs

Foundation and footing excavation, backfill, grading and dirt work for residential and commercial construction.

Drainage & underground utilities

French drains, culverts, storm and roof drainage, plus underground water, power and sewer trenching — including septic and utility runs.

Demolition & haul-off

Old structures, barns, slabs, decks and outbuildings taken down and hauled away with our own dump trucks and equipment.

Rock, gravel & trucking

Gravel driveways, rock delivery, spreading and compaction, plus general dump-truck and equipment trucking around Mason and Thurston counties.

How it works

  1. 1. Free on-site walkthrough

One of the Justice brothers meets you on the property, walks the job, and talks through access, drainage, timber and what the ground is actually going to need.

  2. 2. Written quote, no surprises

You get a clear written price with the scope spelled out — what's included, what isn't, and where any unknowns like rock or wet ground could change it.

  3. 3. Locates, permits & layout

Utility locates called in, permits and forest-practice requirements sorted where the job needs them, and the work staked before any dirt moves.

  4. 4. We do the work ourselves

Own excavators, dozers and trucks with our own crew running them — logging, clearing, digging and hauling handled in house instead of subbed out.

  5. 5. Final grade & walkthrough

Site graded, debris hauled off and the finished job walked with you before we pull the equipment out.

What Justice Logging & Excavation promises

  • Family-owned and operated — you deal with the Justice brothers directly, start to finish.
  • Washington licensed, bonded and insured (JUSTILE743CB) and verified by PNW Small Business.
  • Written quotes — the price you're quoted is the price you pay unless you change the scope.
  • Own excavators, dozers and trucks, so schedules don't slip waiting on a subcontractor.
  • Quality work done right the first time, on your budget and your timeline.
  • Debris hauled off and the site left graded and clean, not torn up.

Common questions

Do you handle both the logging and the excavation on the same job?+

Yes — that's the whole point of running both sides under one roof. We can fall and haul the timber, clear the lot, then dig the foundation, build the driveway and set the drainage without you lining up three different contractors and three different schedules.

How much does it cost to clear a lot?+

It depends on acreage, tree size, slope, how much marketable timber is on it and how far the debris has to travel. Merchantable logs can offset part of the cost. We'll walk it with you at no charge and give you a real written number instead of a phone guess.

Can you do site prep for a new house or shop?+

Yes. Clearing, stripping, building and compacting the pad, cutting the driveway, rocking the access and setting drainage are routine work for us — we hand the builder ground that's ready to go.

Do you install drainage and underground utilities?+

We do. French drains, culverts, storm and roof drainage, and trenching for water, power, sewer and septic lines.

Can you take down big trees close to a house or shop?+

Yes. Large fir, hazard trees and leaners near structures, driveways and power lines are the removals we're equipped for — logging iron and trucking, not just a chainsaw and a bucket truck.

Do you tear down old buildings?+

Yes — barns, sheds, slabs, decks and old structures demolished and hauled off with our own trucks.

Do I need permits?+

It depends on the parcel and the county. Timber harvests in Washington usually require a Forest Practices Application through DNR, and grading, drainage or demolition work can require county permits. We deal with this regularly and will tell you what your specific job needs before we start.

What areas do you serve?+

Home base is Shelton, and we work across Mason, Thurston and Grays Harbor counties — Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, Belfair, Allyn, Union, Matlock, Elma and McCleary. Call and ask if you're just outside that; if the job is right we'll travel.

How fast can you get out for a quote?+

Usually within a few days. Call (360) 204-9927 or send a quote request through this listing and we'll get a walkthrough on the calendar.

    How PNW listings work

Paid tiers change order, not who can list

Free, Business Plus ($29) and Featured ($99) listings are all unlimited — any number of businesses can appear in the same category and city. Paid members simply sort above free ones.

Free listings are never hidden or removed

A free listing stays searchable, keeps its full profile and can be contacted directly at any time. It just appears below paid members in results.

    Only Category Partner is exclusive

One Category Partner position is available per category within each approved territory. The Category Partner receives the exclusive official partner placement and first access to matching quote requests in that territory. Category Partner exclusivity applies to the official partner position for the agreed category and territory. Other businesses in that category may still be listed and displayed throughout the PNW Small Business Network. A territory may be a city, county, metro area or group of nearby cities, and availability is confirmed before membership activation. Category Partner is an advertising and placement position on this platform only — it does not award, assign or control any customer project.

Quote requests go to paying members first

Each customer request is shared with no more than 3 businesses, offered in order: Category Partner, then Featured, then Business Plus. Free listings don't receive routed leads.

Every listing carries one of three labels

Verified — checked by us. Owner managed — the owner submitted or claimed it. Public info, unclaimed — compiled from public sources, no owner involved yet, and photos may be stock imagery.

    Verified is earned, not purchased

The PNW Verified badge only appears after our verification process — business registration, owner identity, plus licensing and insurance where they apply. Paying alone never creates a badge.
